CoffeeRoo Spam Policy
At CoffeeRoo, sending unsolicited marketing emails—commonly referred to as spam—is strictly prohibited. Members are only permitted to send promotional emails through the official “CoffeeRoo Store newsletter” feature.
Policy Last Updated: 7 June 2025
Note: While the core policy remains unchanged, we’ve clarified the description of actions that violate this policy.
Definition of Spam:
Spam refers to any email (or part of an email) that is both:
- Unsolicited (the recipient did not ask for it), and
- Commercial (intended to promote, sell, or trade goods or services)
What Does the Policy Prohibit?
Sellers are not allowed to:
- Email other members about anything unrelated to a transaction made through CoffeeRoo.
- Use CoffeeRoo to propose or promote buying or selling items outside the platform.
- Share contact details such as email addresses, phone numbers, social media links, usernames, external websites, or any personal/business information.
Exception: Sellers may provide their phone number using the “Ask Seller a Question” (ASQ) tool, but only to help facilitate a transaction on CoffeeRoo.
- Send unsolicited commercial messages to other members.
- Add members to mailing lists without explicit consent, or invite them to external newsletters unrelated to a CoffeeRoo Store.
- Send emails pretending to be from CoffeeRoo.
Compliance
All member activity must comply with this policy, the CoffeeRoo User Agreement, and relevant laws. Any violation may result in corrective action, including but not limited to:
- Removal of content or listings
- Issuing warnings
- Restriction or suspension of user accounts
These actions are taken in accordance with legal requirements and platform terms.
Why This Policy Exists
This policy is designed to:
- Prevent fraudulent or unsafe off-platform dealings
- Ensure that users only receive essential communications related to their transactions
- Protect the CoffeeRoo community from unwanted marketing messages
