Misrepresentation of Identity Policy
At CoffeeRoo, we strictly prohibit users from falsely presenting themselves as CoffeeRoo employees or other members of the platform.
All user activity on CoffeeRoo must comply with this policy, the CoffeeRoo User Agreement, relevant legal requirements, and third-party rights. Violations may result in corrective measures in line with the law and the User Agreement, which may include—but are not limited to—content removal, account warnings, usage restrictions, or even account suspension.
Reporting Identity Misrepresentation
If you come across a user pretending to be a CoffeeRoo staff member or another user, please report the incident by providing their User ID or email to CoffeeRoo. Please note that, due to privacy regulations, CoffeeRoo cannot share details about the outcome of any investigation.
Example Scenario
Don lists a camcorder with a hard drive for sale on CoffeeRoo, requesting payment via PayPal. Vicki wins the auction, but before she pays, a third party emails her claiming to represent Don and provides a different PayPal address for the payment.
Vicki wisely verifies this with Don and proceeds with the official CoffeeRoo checkout, ensuring payment goes to the legitimate seller.
Important Reminders About Personal Information
Sensitive details such as your name, address, login credentials, and credit card information are highly valuable—and often targeted in fraud attempts. Scammers may pretend to be from CoffeeRoo or a fellow member and try to extract this information via email or fake websites.
CoffeeRoo will never request sensitive information by email. When such information is genuinely needed, members will be directed to submit it through their secure “My CoffeeRoo” dashboard.
