Buying or Selling Outside CoffeeRoo
Buying or selling outside of CoffeeRoo is not allowed. Users may not share personal or contact information—such as phone numbers, email addresses, or social media handles—before completing a transaction on CoffeeRoo.
This rule was updated on 10 June 2024 to include specific examples of prohibited contact information and takes effect from that date.
Why This Policy Exists
Moving transactions off-platform puts both buyers and sellers at risk of fraud and forfeits the protections offered by CoffeeRoo, including the Money Back Guarantee.
What’s Not Allowed
Buyers and sellers must not:
- Attempt or arrange transactions outside CoffeeRoo
- Share or request personal contact details before a sale is completed. This includes:
- Full names
- Physical addresses
- Phone numbers
- Email addresses
- Social media or messaging app usernames
- External website links
- Payment or banking information
- Promote or mention third-party websites for sales
- Use contact info from a CoffeeRoo transaction to propose off-site deals
- List items and direct users to purchase them elsewhere
- Distribute catalogs or other materials to facilitate off-site purchases
What Buyers and Sellers Should Do
- Always complete purchases through CoffeeRoo to ensure you’re protected
- Use the CoffeeRoo checkout system
- Confirm sales via your order or sales history
- Use features like Best Offer, Seller Initiated Offers, or Private Offers in Messages to negotiate and complete deals
Policy Enforcement
All user activity must follow this policy, the CoffeeRoo User Agreement, and applicable laws. Violations may lead to:
- Content removal
- Warnings or account restrictions
- Suspension of accounts
Reporting Off-Site Offers
If someone asks you to buy or sell outside of CoffeeRoo, report it to:
